sensational Dev. D.
A genuine revelation by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
The movie Dev D is what we call contemporary cinematic experience.

It is one of the flicks with technical brilliance. Dev.D is half a decade ahead of Bollywood in terms of movie making. Beginning with the outstanding Direction , contemporary Screenplay, thrilling Background Score, dazzling Visual Effects , extra ordinary Cinematography and rebellious Art Designing all are in tremendous coordination with the helter-skelter content of the concept.
The Sound Mixing is absolutely stunning and first of its kind in Bollywood.

Both the Score and Music by Amit Trivedi is amazing.. and mind boggling variation is attained
to build the different themes of different perspective.
Truly speaking one of the vivid album of modern times. With 18 vibrant tracks and using only fresh
and upcoming artists this album has yielded a modernistic innovation.

The story has synonymous characters from Bengali novel Devdas but is totally different in its story-boarding and presentation. The content is highly matured and realistic in accordance with current social scenario. The most spectacular accomplishment of the story is the flow and continuity. Its simply makes you wonder as the way it begins, it turns, shifts and ends...

Abhay Deol has rendered one of the finest performance as the protagonist Dev and with the breakthrough of this magnitude he has entered the elite class of actors in recent times.

Mahie Gill shows the truthful inner feelings of a full grown village girl Paro.. towards the social taboos of rural or sub urban areas.

Kalki Koechlin on the other hand is sensational as Chanda.. the way she performed in her transitional characterization is splendid. I mean how many newcomers have such input into unconventional roles. The film making has made the characters realistic and gave immense scope for
spontaneity in the their portrayal.


Now for the verdict :
Rating -> 9 / 10
Yes... The rating may seem a bit elevated but a bold attempt deserves a bold appreciation. Very strong critics can consider something around 8. For modern film lovers this is a straight 10. Full paisa vasool Cinema.
Abhay Deol shows that he has it in him and continues his family success
journey.
The motion picture editing and sound editing though being very good had a bit of loose finishing at some places. But on the whole being the first flick with dynamic variation and innovation, such minute mishandling are absolutely negligible. And everyone do remember such magnificent experience is a rarity in Bollywood.. so go and watch it before it disappears from your nearest theater.

Viewers Beware : Dev. D is more fatal than Cocaine..
When you take it for the first time either you will love it or start vomiting.
But once you start taking more doses you become a maniac.
And then with more .. appreciation will be transformed to pure madness.
As a matter of fact I am suffering from this madness already after
watching it consecutively for four days and still not satisfied.
Yeh dil maange more.
